Paste HTML to check for a single H1, skipped levels, empty headings and duplicates.
A heading structure checker reviews the H1 to H6 tags in your HTML and flags missing or multiple H1s, skipped levels, empty headings and duplicates. It runs in your browser, so you can test drafts before they go live.
It runs entirely in your browser. Nothing you paste or upload is sent to a server or stored.
Results appear as you run it, with nothing to install and no waiting on a queue.
Each finding says what it means and what to do next, not just a raw value.
Copy the output straight into your CMS, spreadsheet, ticket or client report.

The checker highlights where your outline breaks: no H1, more than one H1, jumps such as H2 to H4, empty tags and repeated headings. Start with the errors that affect meaning, such as a missing H1 or empty headings, then fix level jumps. Compare the list against your page's real sections: each H2 should be a main topic, and each H3 a point inside it. Rewrite headings so a reader scanning only them still understands the page. Duplicates are often fine when they appear in separate sections, but check that repeated labels like "Details" do not hide meaningful content. After editing, paste the revised HTML again to confirm the structure is clean before publishing.
Do not change heading levels purely to satisfy the checker. If the design needs a smaller visual size, style it with CSS and keep the correct tag. Another mistake is using headings for things that are not headings, such as button labels, quotes or sidebar widgets, which clutters the outline and can confuse screen reader users. Avoid pasting a full template including menus and footer and then fixing issues that belong to the theme rather than the content. Do not assume that a perfect structure ranks a page; it supports readability and accessibility, while content quality and relevance still do the heavy lifting.
