Create two or three clean hashtags for a video, and see how YouTube uses them.
A YouTube hashtag generator produces short, lowercase hashtags for your topic. YouTube shows the first three above the title, and ignores a video's hashtags if it has more than 15.
It runs entirely in your browser. Nothing you paste or upload is sent to a server or stored.
Results appear as you run it, with nothing to install and no waiting on a queue.
Each finding says what it means and what to do next, not just a raw value.
Copy the output straight into your CMS, spreadsheet, ticket or client report.

Pick the three hashtags that best describe the video, because those are the ones shown above the title when you place them in the title or description. Put the most specific one first, then a broader topic tag, then a format or series tag if you have one. Keep them lowercase, with no spaces, as the generator outputs them, and use only letters and numbers. Check the total: if a video has more than 15 hashtags YouTube ignores all of them, so stay far below that. Paste your chosen tags at the end of the description, then open the watch page to see how they display. Reuse a branded hashtag across a series so viewers can find related uploads together.
Do not use hashtags that have nothing to do with the video just because they are popular; that is misleading and can lead to your tags being ignored or removed. Avoid spaces inside a hashtag, which splits it into separate words and breaks the link. Another error is stacking dozens of tags in the hope of wider reach, which crosses the 15-tag limit and cancels them all. Do not repeat the same hashtag in different spellings. Remember that hashtags and tags are different fields: hashtags go in the title or description and are clickable, while tags sit in the hidden tags box. Finally, check punctuation, as symbols other than the hash sign can invalidate a tag.
