About this tool

What is the Answer Readiness Scorer?

An answer readiness scorer reads your page text or HTML and checks signals that make passages easy to find and quote: descriptive headings, question headings, a definition near the top, lists, specific facts, a date and sources. The score is a heuristic, not a measure used by Google or any AI engine.

It runs entirely in your browser. Nothing you paste or upload is sent to a server or stored.

Guide

How to read the result and act on it

Look at the score as a summary and spend your time on the individual signals. Each one points to a specific edit: a missing definition near the top means adding a one-sentence explanation of the topic; a lack of question headings means turning some section titles into the questions readers ask; no lists suggests converting steps or options into bulleted or numbered items; missing dates and sources suggests adding the update date and linking to where facts come from. Apply the changes that improve the page for readers, then re-run the scorer. Stop when the remaining gaps are ones that do not suit the page, such as lists on an essay.

Common mistakes to avoid

Do not edit the page just to push the number up. The score is a heuristic from this tool, not a measure used by Google or any AI engine, so a high score does not mean a page will be cited or ranked. Another mistake is adding question headings that the following paragraph does not answer, which confuses readers. Avoid padding pages with lists of weak points to hit a signal. People also paste only a fragment of the page, which understates the result; paste the full body text or HTML. Finally, do not add a date or source that is not true. Only update the date when you have actually revised the content.

Next steps

Use this with

  • Answer Block Checker: Test whether the paragraph under a heading answers the question directly and can stand alone.
  • Query Fan-Out Generator: Break a topic into the related sub-questions an AI search system may ask, and check your page coverage.
  • On-Page SEO Checker: Fetch a URL and review its title, description, headings, canonical, links, images and word count.

FAQ

Questions, answered

No. The check runs in your browser.
Either works. HTML lets the scorer see real heading and list tags, which gives a more accurate reading of structure. Plain text is fine for a quick check, though headings and lists may be missed.
Only roughly. The same signals are tested each time, so you can compare drafts of one page. Different page types need different structures, so do not rank unrelated pages by score.
